3 Prepared PC-II of Rs.25 million on Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan of Left Bank Outfall Drain Project (EMMP-LBOD) submitted to Federal Environmental Management Unit- Lahore for onward to MOW&P for approval; which includes following studies;
1) Fisheries and water quality survey
2) Wildlife survey in Chotiari Reservoir area
3) Socio-economic survey of fishermen (Tidal Link)
4) Socio-economic survey of fishermen (Chotiari)
5) Survey of Migration/Grazing cattle of Chotiari Reservoir area
6) Survey of Effluent Pollution in LBOD Drains
7) Environmental Awareness Programme
8) Sea Intrusion in the Tidal Link Area
9) Study and Proposal for Establishment of the Fish Hatcheries of various species of Fish in Chotiari Reservoir and Tidal Link.
10) Water Table Survey and its Fluctuations due to the seepage of Chotiari Reservoir.
11) Survey of existing grazing areas for the livestock in Chotiari Reservoir area and proposal for extension of new area
12) Survey for establishment of Chotiari National Park for the protection and Development of Wildlife in the area
13) Enhancement of the forestry areas in Chotiari area
14) Monitoring of Water Quality of Chotiari Reservoir area
15) Survey and preparation of a proposal for providing freshwater in the Tidal Link Area for Dirking purpose
16) Prepared proposal on implementation Plan for use of poor land and saline drainage water resources for forestation on sustainable basis, submitted to UNDP, which was approved in principal.
17) Prepared report on Training Workshop on Modernization of Irrigation System in Sindh, Project preparation and capacity building in support of the Water Sector Improvement Project (WSIP). ( Ghotki Feeder Canal Area Water Board).
18) Organized Stakeholders Consultation Workshop on Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan of Left Bank Outfall Drain (EMMP-LBOD) in Hyderabad and arranged meeting with stakeholders at Bahdami Town (Badin) Tidal Link area and at Pakciri near Chotiari Reservoir (Sanghar);
19) Published proceedings of Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan of Left Bank Outfall Drain (EMMP-LBOD) and distributed to the concerned.
