15:“WATER THEFT, TEMPERING OF OUTLETS AND CROP WATER REQUIREMENTS”

Government of Sindh taking serious steps for judicious distribution of water and stop water theft. In this regard a committee was formed by the Planning and Development Department, Government of Sindh to discus the issues related with “Water Theft, Tempering of Outlets and Water Requirements for crops”. Committee was formed to suggest and advise for optimum utilization of water to the farmers through workshops and seminars in Sindh.
The committee was formed under chairmanship of the Managing Director-SIDA. Committee held four meetings, in which the subject matter was brought under discussion. I third meeting a sub committee was constituted under chairmanship of Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Sohag, General Manager (R&D), SIDA, with Mr. A. Kalhoro, Chief (Agriculture)P&D Department, Mr. Yasin, ex-Director DRC and Dr. Qazi Suliman Memon (DG Agriculture Department as members. The sub committee suggested that it is very necessary that report on the issue of “Waster Theft, Tempering of Out Lets and Crop Water Requirements” may be prepared. Therefore R&D Section –SIDA prepared two comprehensive reports on the following issues.
